Intro to Sock Knitting

Knitting socks can sound scary! Fine yarn, all those needles and turning heels – but they are not difficult when you know how. Megan’s grandmother was still knitting socks at the age of 97. Indeed sock knitting can become very addictive and super satisfying!

In this class you will make a small top-down sock which will allow you to understand each of the steps involved. You will be introduced to three ways of knitting socks using 4 or 5 double ended needles, two circular needles or one circular needle (the Magic loop method).

Megan will talk you through sock yarns and patterns and introduce you to some of the different ways you can knit socks.

Pre-requisite knowledge: Ability to cast on, knit and purl and cast off.
